La ilaha illallah

اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ (قریب الموت شخص کے پاس نرمی سے یہ پڑھیں تاکہ وہ بھی کہہ لے)

There is no god but Allah. (Gently say it near the dying person so that they say it too; whoever's last words are this will enter Jannah.)

Allahummaghfir li warhamni wa alhiqni bir-rafiqil-a'la

اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے، مجھ پر رحم فرما اور مجھے سب سے بلند رفیق (کی صحبت) سے ملا دے۔

O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me and join me with the highest companions.

Allahummaghfir li (name) warfa' darajatahu fil-mahdiyyin, wakhlufhu fi 'aqibihi fil-ghabirin, waghfir lana wa lahu ya rabbal-'alamin, wafsah lahu fi qabrihi wa nawwir lahu fih

اے اللہ! (فلاں) کو بخش دے، ہدایت یافتہ لوگوں میں اس کا درجہ بلند فرما، پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں اس کی اولاد کا نگہبان بن جا، اے سارے جہانوں کے رب! ہمیں اور اسے بخش دے، اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر دے اور اس میں روشنی کر دے۔

O Allah, forgive (name), raise his rank among the rightly guided, be his successor for those he leaves behind, forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds, make his grave spacious and give him light in it.

Allahummaghfir li hayyina wa mayyitina, wa shahidina wa gha'ibina, wa saghirina wa kabirina, wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaytahu minna fa-ahyihi 'alal-islam, wa man tawaffaytahu minna fatawaffahu 'alal-iman. Allahumma la tahrimna ajrahu wa la tudillana ba'dah

اے اللہ! ہمارے زندوں اور مُردوں کو، حاضر اور غائب کو، چھوٹوں اور بڑوں کو، مردوں اور عورتوں کو بخش دے۔ اے اللہ! ہم میں سے جسے تو زندہ رکھے اسے اسلام پر زندہ رکھ اور جسے موت دے اسے ایمان پر موت دے۔ اے اللہ! ہمیں اس کے اجر سے محروم نہ کر اور اس کے بعد ہمیں گمراہ نہ کر۔

O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whomever You keep alive among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You cause to die, cause him to die upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward and do not lead us astray after him. (Recited after the third takbir.)

Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu, wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi' mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama naqqaytath-thawbal-abyada minad-danas, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhul-jannata, wa a'idhhu min 'adhabil-qabri wa min 'adhabin-nar

اے اللہ! اسے بخش دے، اس پر رحم فرما، اسے عافیت دے اور اسے معاف فرما، اس کی بہترین مہمانی کر، اس کی قبر کشادہ کر، اسے پانی، برف اور اولوں سے دھو دے، اسے گناہوں سے ایسے پاک کر دے جیسے سفید کپڑا میل سے صاف کیا جاتا ہے، اسے اس کے گھر سے بہتر گھر، اس کے گھر والوں سے بہتر گھر والے اور اس کے جوڑے سے بہتر جوڑا عطا فرما، اسے جنت میں داخل کر اور قبر کے عذاب اور آگ کے عذاب سے بچا۔

O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, give him wellbeing and pardon him. Honour his reception, widen his entry, wash him with water, snow and hail, and cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Give him a home better than his home, a family better than his family and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him to Jannah and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the Fire. (For a woman use the feminine: lahā, ha.)

Allahumma inna (name son of name) fi dhimmatika wa habli jiwarik, faqihi min fitnatil-qabri wa 'adhabin-nar, wa anta ahlul-wafa'i wal-haqq, faghfir lahu warhamhu, innaka antal-ghafurur-rahim

اے اللہ! (فلاں بن فلاں) تیری ذمہ داری اور تیری پناہ کی رسی میں ہے، اسے قبر کی آزمائش اور آگ کے عذاب سے بچا، تو وعدہ پورا کرنے والا اور حق والا ہے، اسے بخش دے اور اس پر رحم فرما، بے شک تو بہت بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

O Allah, (name son of name) is under Your care and in the rope of Your protection, so save him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. You are faithful and true, so forgive him and have mercy on him; You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

Allahummaj'alhu lana faratan, waj'alhu lana ajran wa dhukhran, waj'alhu lana shafi'an wa mushaffa'a

اے اللہ! اسے ہمارے لیے آگے جا کر انتظام کرنے والا بنا، اسے ہمارے لیے اجر اور ذخیرہ بنا، اور اسے ہمارے لیے سفارش کرنے والا اور ایسا بنا جس کی سفارش قبول ہو۔ (بچی کے لیے: اجْعَلْهَا … شَافِعَةً وَّمُشَفَّعَةً)

O Allah, make him a forerunner for us, make him a reward and a treasure for us, and make him an intercessor for us whose intercession is accepted. (For a girl: ij'alha … shafi'atan wa mushaffa'ah.)

Bismillahi wa 'ala millati rasulillah

اللہ کے نام سے اور رسول اللہ ﷺ کے طریقے پر (ہم اسے قبر میں رکھتے ہیں)۔

In the name of Allah and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

Allahummaghfir lah, Allahumma thabbit-h

اے اللہ! اسے بخش دے، اے اللہ! اسے (سوال کے وقت) ثابت قدم رکھ۔

O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, make him steadfast. (The Prophet ﷺ said: Ask forgiveness for your brother and ask that he be made firm, for he is now being questioned.)

As-salamu 'alaykum ahlad-diyari minal-mu'minina wal-muslimin, wa inna in sha'Allahu lalahiqun, as'alullaha lana wa lakumul-'afiyah

اے اس بستی کے مومن اور مسلمان رہنے والو! تم پر سلامتی ہو، اور ہم بھی ان شاء اللہ تم سے ملنے والے ہیں، میں اللہ سے اپنے اور تمہارے لیے عافیت مانگتا ہوں۔

Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of these dwellings among the believers and Muslims. We will, if Allah wills, join you. I ask Allah for wellbeing for us and for you.

As-salamu 'ala ahlid-diyari minal-mu'minina wal-muslimin, wa yarhamullahul-mustaqdimina minna wal-musta'khirin, wa inna in sha'Allahu bikum lalahiqun

اس بستی کے مومنوں اور مسلمانوں پر سلامتی ہو، اللہ ہم میں سے پہلے جانے والوں اور بعد میں جانے والوں پر رحم فرمائے، اور ہم ان شاء اللہ تم سے ملنے والے ہیں۔

Peace be upon the inhabitants of these dwellings among the believers and Muslims. May Allah have mercy on those of us who have gone ahead and those who come later. We will, if Allah wills, join you.

Inna lillahi ma akhadha, wa lahu ma a'ta, wa kullu shay'in 'indahu bi-ajalin musamma, faltasbir waltahtasib

بے شک اللہ ہی کا ہے جو اس نے لے لیا اور اسی کا ہے جو اس نے دیا، اور اس کے ہاں ہر چیز کا ایک مقرر وقت ہے، پس صبر کرو اور ثواب کی امید رکھو۔

Indeed, to Allah belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave, and everything with Him has an appointed term. So be patient and hope for reward.
