Eid takbir تکبیراتِ عید

اللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ، وَاللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلِلّٰهِ الْحَمْدُ

Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, Allahu akbar, wa lillahil-hamd

اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اور اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے، اور تمام تعریف اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے۔

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and all praise is for Allah. (Said on the way to Eid prayer; for Eid al-Adha also after each fard prayer from Fajr of 9 Dhul-Hijjah to Asr of 13 Dhul-Hijjah — Takbir-e-Tashreeq.)

Eid greeting عید کی مبارکباد

تَقَبَّلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكَ

Taqabbalallahu minna wa mink

اللہ ہم سے اور آپ سے (نیک اعمال) قبول فرمائے۔

May Allah accept (good deeds) from us and from you.

Practice of the Companions — reported by Jubayr ibn Nufayr; Ibn Hajar graded the chain hasan (Fath al-Bari)

Dhikr in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah عشرۂ ذی الحجہ کا ذکر

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ، وَاللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ

La ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wal-hamdu lillah

اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے اور تمام تعریف اللہ کے لیے ہے۔

There is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and all praise is for Allah. (The Prophet ﷺ said: increase in these days in tahlil, takbir and tahmid.)

Slaughtering the Qurbani animal قربانی کا جانور ذبح کرتے وقت

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَاللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللّٰهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ، اللّٰهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيْ

Bismillahi wallahu akbar, Allahumma minka wa lak, Allahumma taqabbal minni

اللہ کے نام سے، اور اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے۔ اے اللہ! یہ تیری ہی عطا ہے اور تیرے ہی لیے ہے۔ اے اللہ! مجھ سے قبول فرما۔ (دوسرے کی طرف سے ہو تو: مِنْ فُلَانٍ)

In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, it is from You and for You. O Allah, accept it from me (or: from so-and-so).

Before slaughter: I have turned my face قربانی سے پہلے کی دعا

إِنِّيْ وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِيْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْأَرْضَ عَلٰى مِلَّةِ إِبْرٰهِيْمَ حَنِيْفًا وَّمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ، إِنَّ صَلَاتِيْ وَنُسُكِيْ وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِيْ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ، لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَبِذٰلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ

Inni wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhi fataras-samawati wal-arda 'ala millati Ibrahima hanifan wa ma ana minal-mushrikin. Inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi rabbil-'alamin, la sharika lahu wa bidhalika umirtu wa ana minal-muslimin

میں نے اپنا رخ اس ذات کی طرف کر لیا جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا، ابراہیمؑ کے دین پر یکسو ہو کر، اور میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں۔ بے شک میری نماز، میری قربانی، میرا جینا اور میرا مرنا اللہ رب العالمین کے لیے ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اسی کا مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے اور میں فرمانبرداروں میں سے ہوں۔

I have turned my face to Him who created the heavens and the earth, upon the religion of Ibrahim, inclining to truth, and I am not of the polytheists. My prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds; He has no partner. This I am commanded and I am of the Muslims. (Then say Bismillahi wallahu akbar.)
