Surah Al-Kawthar Word by Word سورۃ الکوثر لفظ بہ لفظ
Al-Kawthar, 'Abundance', is the shortest surah of the Quran, only three ayahs. It consoles the Prophet ﷺ with a gift of abundant good, tells him to pray and sacrifice, and declares that his enemy is the one cut off.
سورۃ الکوثر قرآن کی سب سے چھوٹی سورت ہے، صرف تین آیات۔ اس میں نبی ﷺ کو خیرِ کثیر کی بشارت، نماز اور قربانی کا حکم، اور یہ اعلان ہے کہ آپ کا دشمن ہی بے نام و نشان ہے۔
have given you تمہیں عطا کیا
أَعْطَيْنَاكَaʿtaynaka
aʿtayna (We gave) + ka (you).
أَعْطَيْنَا (ہم نے دیا) + كَ (تمہیں)۔
al-Kawthar (abundant good; a river in Paradise) کوثر (خیر کثیر؛ جنت کی نہر)
الْكَوْثَرَal-kawthar
From k-th-r, abundance.
مادہ ك ث ر، کثرت۔
and sacrifice اور قربانی کرو
وَانْحَرْwanhar
Command from nahara, to sacrifice an animal.
نَحَرَ (قربانی کرنا) سے امر۔
indeed your enemy بے شک تمہارا دشمن
إِنَّ شَانِئَكَinna shani'aka
Shani': one who hates.
شَانِئ: بغض رکھنے والا۔
he is the one cut off وہی بے نام و نشان ہے
هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُhuwa al-abtar
Abtar: cut off from all good and remembrance.
أَبْتَر: ہر بھلائی اور ذکر سے کٹا ہوا۔
Tips
- Gift (ayah 1), then gratitude through prayer and sacrifice (ayah 2).
- Fa ('so') links the blessing to the response.
- Huwa al-abtar uses a pronoun for emphasis: he, and only he.
- Notice the attached pronoun -ka three times: to you, your Lord, your enemy.
- An ideal first surah to memorise with full meaning.
- پہلی آیت میں عطا، دوسری میں نماز اور قربانی کے ذریعے شکر۔
- فَـ (پس) نعمت کو اس کے جواب سے جوڑتا ہے۔
- هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ میں ضمیر تاکید کے لیے ہے: وہی، صرف وہی۔
- ضمیر ـكَ تین بار آئی ہے: تمہیں، تمہارا رب، تمہارا دشمن۔
- پورے معنی کے ساتھ یاد کرنے کے لیے بہترین پہلی سورت۔
