Surah Al-Ma'arij

Saala sailun biAAathabin waqiAAin

مانگنے والے نے عذاب مانگا ہے، (وہ عذاب) جو ضرور واقع ہونے والا ہے

A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

Lilkafireena laysa lahu dafiAAun

کافروں کے لیے ہے، کوئی اُسے دفع کرنے والا نہیں

To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer

Mina Allahi thee almaAAariji

اُس خدا کی طرف سے ہے جو عروج کے زینوں کا مالک ہے

[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent

TaAAruju almalaikatu waalrroohu ilayhi fee yawmin kana miqdaruhu khamseena alfa sanatin

ملائکہ اور روح اُس کے حضور چڑھ کر جاتے ہیں ایک ایسے دن میں جس کی مقدار پچاس ہزار سال ہے

The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years

Faisbir sabran jameelan

پس اے نبیؐ، صبر کرو، شائستہ صبر

So be patient with gracious patience

Innahum yarawnahu baAAeedan

یہ لوگ اُسے دور سمجھتے ہیں

Indeed, they see it [as] distant

Wanarahu qareeban

اور ہم اسے قریب دیکھ رہے ہیں

But We see it [as] near

Yawma takoonu alssamao kaalmuhli

(وہ عذاب اُس روز ہوگا) جس روز آسمان پگھلی ہوئی چاندی کی طرح ہو جائے گا

On the Day the sky will be like murky oil

Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni

اور پہاڑ رنگ برنگ کے دھنکے ہوئے اون جیسے ہو جائیں گے

And the mountains will be like wool

Wala yasalu hameemun hameeman

اور کوئی جگری دوست اپنے جگری دوست کو نہ پوچھے گا

And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend

Yubassaroonahum yawaddu almujrimu law yaftadee min AAathabi yawmiithin bibaneehi

حالانکہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو دکھائے جائیں گے مجرم چاہے گا کہ اس دن کے عذاب سے بچنے کے لیے اپنی اولاد کو

They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children

Wasahibatihi waakheehi

اپنی بیوی کو، اپنے بھائی کو

And his wife and his brother

Wafaseelatihi allatee tuweehi

اپنے قریب ترین خاندان کو جو اسے پناہ دینے والا تھا

And his nearest kindred who shelter him

Waman fee alardi jameeAAan thumma yunjeehi

اور روئے زمین کے سب لوگوں کو فدیہ میں دیدے اور یہ تدبیر اُسے نجات دلا دے

And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him

Kalla innaha latha

ہرگز نہیں وہ تو بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ کی لپٹ ہوگی

No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell]

NazzaAAatan lilshshawa

جو گوشت پوست کو چاٹ جائے گی

A remover of exteriors

TadAAoo man adbara watawalla

پکار پکار کر اپنی طرف بلائے گی ہر اُس شخص کو جس نے حق سے منہ موڑا اور پیٹھ پھیری

It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]

WajamaAAa faawAAa

اور مال جمع کیا اور سینت سینت کر رکھا

And collected [wealth] and hoarded

Inna alinsana khuliqa halooAAan

انسان تھڑدلا پیدا کیا گیا ہے

Indeed, mankind was created anxious

Itha massahu alshsharru jazooAAan

جب اس پر مصیبت آتی ہے تو گھبرا اٹھتا ہے

When evil touches him, impatient

Waitha massahu alkhayru manooAAan

اور جب اسے خوشحالی نصیب ہوتی ہے تو بخل کرنے لگتا ہے

And when good touches him, withholding [of it]

Illa almusalleena

مگر وہ لوگ (اِس عیب سے بچے ہوئے ہیں) جو نماز پڑھنے والے ہیں

Except the observers of prayer

Allatheena hum AAala salatihim daimoona

جو اپنی نماز کی ہمیشہ پابندی کرتے ہیں

Those who are constant in their prayer

Waallatheena fee amwalihim haqqun maAAloomun

جن کے مالوں میں،

And those within whose wealth is a known right

Lilssaili waalmahroomi

سائل اور محروم کا ایک حق مقرر ہے

For the petitioner and the deprived

Waallatheena yusaddiqoona biyawmi alddeeni

جو روز جزا کو برحق مانتے ہیں

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

Waallatheena hum min AAathabi rabbihim mushfiqoona

جو اپنے رب کے عذاب سے ڈرتے ہیں

And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord

Inna AAathaba rabbihim ghayru mamoonin

کیونکہ اُن کے رب کا عذاب ایسی چیز نہیں ہے جس سے کوئی بے خوف ہو

Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe

Waallatheena hum lifuroojihim hafithoona

جو اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں

And those who guard their private parts

Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fainnahum ghayru maloomeena

بجز اپنی بیویوں یا اپنی مملوکہ عورتوں کے جن سے محفوظ نہ رکھنے میں ان پر کوئی ملامت نہیں

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed

Famani ibtagha waraa thalika faolaika humu alAAadoona

البتہ جو اس کے علاوہ کچھ اور چاہیں وہی حد سے تجاوز کرنے والے ہیں

But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors

Waallatheena hum liamanatihim waAAahdihim raAAoona

جو اپنی امانتوں کی حفاظت اور اپنے عہد کا پاس کرتے ہیں

And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

Waallatheena hum bishahadatihim qaimoona

جو اپنی گواہیوں میں راست بازی پر قائم رہتے ہیں

And those who are in their testimonies upright

Waallatheena hum AAala salatihim yuhafithoona

اور جو اپنی نماز کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں

And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer

Olaika fee jannatin mukramoona

یہ لوگ عزت کے ساتھ جنت کے باغوں میں رہیں گے

They will be in gardens, honored

Famali allatheena kafaroo qibalaka muhtiAAeena

پس اے نبیؐ، کیا بات ہے کہ یہ منکرین دائیں اور بائیں سے،

So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad]

AAani alyameeni waAAani alshshimali AAizeena

گروہ در گروہ تمہاری طرف دوڑے چلے آ رہے ہیں؟

[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups

AyatmaAAu kullu imriin minhum an yudkhala jannata naAAeemin

کیا اِن میں سے ہر ایک یہ لالچ رکھتا ہے کہ وہ نعمت بھری جنت میں داخل کر دیا جائے گا؟

Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure

Kalla inna khalaqnahum mimma yaAAlamoona

ہرگز نہیں ہم نے جس چیز سے اِن کو پیدا کیا ہے اُسے یہ خود جانتے ہیں

No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know

Fala oqsimu birabbi almashariqi waalmagharibi inna laqadiroona

پس نہیں، میں قسم کھاتا ہوں مشرقوں اور مغربوں کے مالک کی، ہم اِس پر قادر ہیں

So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

AAala an nubaddila khayran minhum wama nahnu bimasbooqeena

کہ اِن کی جگہ اِن سے بہتر لوگ لے آئیں اور کوئی ہم سے بازی لے جانے والا نہیں ہے

To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone

Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona

لہٰذا اِنہیں اپنی بیہودہ باتوں اور اپنے کھیل میں پڑا رہنے دو یہاں تک کہ یہ اپنے اُس دن تک پہنچ جائیں جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جا رہا ہے

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised

Yawma yakhrujoona mina alajdathi siraAAan kaannahum ila nusubin yoofidoona

جب یہ اپنی قبروں سے نکل کر اِس طرح دوڑے جا رہے ہوں گے جیسے اپنے بتوں کے استھانوں کی طرف دوڑ رہے ہوں

The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening

KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun thalika alyawmu allathee kanoo yooAAadoona

اِن کی نگاہیں جھکی ہوئی ہوں گی، ذلت اِن پر چھا رہی ہوگی وہ دن ہے جس کا اِن سے وعدہ کیا جا رہا ہے

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised
