The Inevitable Reality

Ma alhaqqatu

کیا ہے وہ ہونی شدنی؟

What is the Inevitable Reality

Wama adraka ma alhaqqatu

اور تم کیا جانو کہ وہ کیا ہے ہونی شدنی؟

And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality

Kaththabat thamoodu waAAadun bialqariAAati

ثمود اور عاد نے اُس اچانک ٹوٹ پڑنے والی آفت کو جھٹلایا

Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity

Faamma thamoodu faohlikoo bialttaghiyati

تو ثمود ایک سخت حادثہ میں ہلاک کیے گئے

So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]

Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin

اور عاد ایک بڑی شدید طوفانی آندھی سے تباہ کر دیے گئے

And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind

Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun

اللہ تعالیٰ نے اُس کو مسلسل سات رات اور آٹھ دن اُن پر مسلط رکھا (تم وہاں ہوتے تو) دیکھتے کہ وہ وہاں اِس طرح پچھڑے پڑے ہیں جیسے وہ کھجور کے بوسیدہ تنے ہوں

Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees

Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin

اب کیا اُن میں سے کوئی تمہیں باقی بچا نظر آتا ہے؟

Then do you see of them any remains

Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati

اور اِسی خطائے عظیم کا ارتکاب فرعون اور اُس سے پہلے کے لوگوں نے اور تل پٹ ہو جانے والی بستیوں نے کیا

And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin

FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan

ان سب نے اپنے رب کے رسول کی بات نہ مانی تو اُس نے اُن کو بڑی سختی کے ساتھ پکڑا

And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]

Inna lamma tagha almao hamalnakum fee aljariyati

جب پانی کا طوفان حد سے گزر گیا تو ہم نے تم کو کشتی میں سوار کر دیا تھا

Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship

LinajAAalaha lakum tathkiratan wataAAiyaha othunun waAAiyatun

تاکہ اِس واقعہ کو تمہارے لیے ایک سبق آموز یادگار بنا دیں اور یاد رکھنے والے کان اس کی یاد محفوظ رکھیں

That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it

Faitha nufikha fee alssoori nafkhatun wahidatun

پھر جب ایک دفعہ صور میں پھونک مار دی جائے گی

Then when the Horn is blown with one blast

Wahumilati alardu waaljibalu fadukkata dakkatan wahidatan

اور زمین اور پہاڑوں کو اٹھا کر ایک ہی چوٹ میں ریزہ ریزہ کر دیا جائے گا

And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow

Fayawmaithin waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu

اُس روز وہ ہونے والا واقعہ پیش آ جائے گا

Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur

Wainshaqqati alssamao fahiya yawmaithin wahiyatun

اُس دن آسمان پھٹے گا اور اس کی بندش ڈھیلی پڑ جائے گی

And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm

Waalmalaku AAala arjaiha wayahmilu AAarsha rabbika fawqahum yawmaithin thamaniyatun

فرشتے اس کے اطراف و جوانب میں ہوں گے اور آٹھ فرشتے اُس روز تیرے رب کا عرش اپنے اوپر اٹھائے ہوئے ہوں گے

And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]

Yawmaithin tuAAradoona la takhfa minkum khafiyatun

وہ دن ہوگا جب تم لوگ پیش کیے جاؤ گے، تمہارا کوئی راز بھی چھپا نہ رہ جائے گا

That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed

Faamma man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi fayaqoolu haomu iqraoo kitabiyah

اُس وقت جس کا نامہ اعمال اُس کے سیدھے ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا وہ کہے گا "لو دیکھو، پڑھو میرا نامہ اعمال

So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record

Innee thanantu annee mulaqin hisabiyah

میں سمجھتا تھا کہ مجھے ضرور اپنا حساب ملنے والا ہے

Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account

Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin

پس وہ دل پسند عیش میں ہوگا

So he will be in a pleasant life

Fee jannatin AAaliyatin

عالی مقام جنت میں

In an elevated garden

Qutoofuha daniyatun

جس کے پھلوں کے گچھے جھکے پڑ رہے ہوں گے

Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near

Kuloo waishraboo haneean bima aslaftum fee alayyami alkhaliyati

(ایسے لوگوں سے کہا جائے گا) مزے سے کھاؤ اور پیو اپنے اُن اعمال کے بدلے جو تم نے گزرے ہوئے دنوں میں کیے ہیں

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past

Waamma man ootiya kitabahu bishimalihi fayaqoolu ya laytanee lam oota kitabiyah

اور جس کا نامہ اعمال اُس کے بائیں ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گا وہ کہے گا "کاش میرا اعمال نامہ مجھے نہ دیا گیا ہوتا

But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record

Walam adri ma hisabiyah

اور میں نہ جانتا کہ میرا حساب کیا ہے

And had not known what is my account

Ya laytaha kanati alqadiyatu

کاش میری وہی موت (جو دنیا میں آئی تھی) فیصلہ کن ہوتی

I wish my death had been the decisive one

Ma aghna AAannee maliyah

آج میرا مال میرے کچھ کام نہ آیا

My wealth has not availed me

Halaka AAannee sultaniyah

میرا سارا اقتدار ختم ہو گیا

Gone from me is my authority

Khuthoohu faghulloohu

(حکم ہو گا) پکڑو اِسے اور اِس کی گردن میں طوق ڈال دو

[Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him

Thumma aljaheema salloohu

پھر اِسے جہنم میں جھونک دو

Then into Hellfire drive him

Thumma fee silsilatin tharAAuha sabAAoona thiraAAan faoslukoohu

پھر اِس کو ستر ہاتھ لمبی زنجیر میں جکڑ دو

Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him

Innahu kana la yuminu biAllahi alAAatheemi

یہ نہ اللہ بزرگ و برتر پر ایمان لاتا تھا

Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allah, the Most Great

Wala yahuddu AAala taAAami almiskeeni

اور نہ مسکین کو کھانا کھلانے کی ترغیب دیتا تھا

Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor

Falaysa lahu alyawma hahuna hameemun

لہٰذا آج نہ یہاں اِس کا کوئی یار غم خوار ہے

So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend

Wala taAAamun illa min ghisleenin

اور نہ زخموں کے دھوون کے سوا اِس کے لیے کوئی کھانا

Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds

La yakuluhu illa alkhatioona

جسے خطا کاروں کے سوا کوئی نہیں کھاتا

None will eat it except the sinners

Fala oqsimu bima tubsiroona

پس نہیں، میں قسم کھاتا ہوں اُن چیزوں کی بھی جو تم دیکھتے ہو

So I swear by what you see

Wama la tubsiroona

اور اُن کی بھی جنہیں تم نہیں دیکھتے

And what you do not see

Innahu laqawlu rasoolin kareemin

یہ ایک رسول کریم کا قول ہے

[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger

Wama huwa biqawli shaAAirin qaleelan ma tuminoona

کسی شاعر کا قول نہیں ہے، تم لوگ کم ہی ایمان لاتے ہو

And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe

Wala biqawli kahinin qaleelan ma tathakkaroona

اور نہ یہ کسی کاہن کا قول ہے، تم لوگ کم ہی غور کرتے ہو

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember

Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena

یہ رب العالمین کی طرف سے نازل ہوا ہے

[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds

Walaw taqawwala AAalayna baAAda alaqaweeli

اور اگر اس (نبی) نے خود گھڑ کر کوئی بات ہماری طرف منسوب کی ہوتی

And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings

Laakhathna minhu bialyameeni

تو ہم اِس کا دایاں ہاتھ پکڑ لیتے

We would have seized him by the right hand

Thumma laqataAAna minhu alwateena

اور اِس کی رگ گردن کاٹ ڈالتے

Then We would have cut from him the aorta

Fama minkum min ahadin AAanhu hajizeena

پھر تم میں سے کوئی (ہمیں) اس کام سے روکنے والا نہ ہوتا

And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him

Wainnahu latathkiratun lilmuttaqeena

درحقیقت یہ پرہیزگار لوگوں کے لیے ایک نصیحت ہے

And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous

Wainna lanaAAlamu anna minkum mukaththibeena

اور ہم جانتے ہیں کہ تم میں سے کچھ لوگ جھٹلانے والے ہیں

And indeed, We know that among you are deniers

Wainnahu lahasratun AAala alkafireena

ایسے کافروں کے لیے یقیناً یہ موجب حسرت ہے

And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers

Wainnahu lahaqqu alyaqeeni

اور یہ بالکل یقینی حق ہے

And indeed, it is the truth of certainty

Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi

پس اے نبیؐ، اپنے رب عظیم کے نام کی تسبیح کرو

So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
