Surah Al-Hijr

Aliflamra tilka ayatu alkitabi waquranin mubeenin

ا ل ر یہ آیات ہیں کتاب الٰہی اور قرآن مبین کی

Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the Book and a clear Qur'an

Rubama yawaddu allatheena kafaroo law kanoo muslimeena

بعید نہیں کہ ایک وقت وہ آ جائے جب وہی لوگ جنہوں نے آج (دعوت اسلام کو قبول کرنے سے) انکار کر دیا ہے پچھتا پچھتا کر کہیں گے کہ کاش ہم نے سر تسلیم خم کر دیا ہوتا

Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims

Tharhum yakuloo wayatamattaAAoo wayulhihimu alamalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona

چھوڑو اِنہیں کھائیں، پییں، مزے کریں، اور بھلاوے میں ڈالے رکھے اِن کو جھوٹی امید عنقریب اِنہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا

Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know

Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun

ہم نے اِس سے پہلے جس بستی کو بھی ہلاک کیا ہے اس کے لیے ایک خاص مہلت عمل لکھی جاچکی تھی

And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree

Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona

کوئی قوم نہ اپنے وقت مقرر سے پہلے ہلاک ہوسکتی ہے، نہ اُس کے بعد چھوٹ سکتی ہے

No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter

Waqaloo ya ayyuha allathee nuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun

یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں "اے وہ شخص جس پر ذکر نازل ہوا ہے، تو یقیناً دیوانہ ہے

And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad

Law ma tateena bialmalaikati in kunta mina alssadiqeena

اگر تو سچا ہے تو ہمارے سامنے فرشتوں کو لے کیوں نہیں آتا؟

Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful

Ma nunazzilu almalaikata illa bialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena

ہم فرشتوں کو یوں ہی نہیں اتار دیا کرتے وہ جب اترتے ہیں تو حق کے ساتھ اترتے ہیں، اور پھر لوگوں کو مہلت نہیں دی جاتی

We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved

Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahafithoona

رہا یہ ذکر، تو اِس کو ہم نے نازل کیا ہے اور ہم خود اِس کے نگہبان ہیں

Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian

Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena

اے محمدؐ، ہم تم سے پہلے بہت سی گزری ہوئی قوموں میں رسول بھیج چکے ہیں

And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples

Wama yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona

کبھی ایسا نہیں ہوا کہ اُن کہ پاس کوئی رسول آیا ہو اور اُنہوں نے اُس کا مذاق نہ اڑایا ہو

And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him

Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobi almujrimeena

مجرمین کے دلوں میں تو ہم اس ذکر کو اِسی طرح (سلاخ کے مانند) گزارتے ہیں

Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals

La yuminoona bihi waqad khalat sunnatu alawwaleena

وہ اِس پر ایمان نہیں لایا کرتے قدیم سے اِس قماش کے لوگوں کا یہی طریقہ چلا آ رہا ہے

They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples

Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona

اگر ہم اُن پر آسمان کا کوئی دروازہ کھول دیتے اور وہ دن دہاڑے اُس میں چڑھنے بھی لگتے

And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend

Laqaloo innama sukkirat absaruna bal nahnu qawmun mashooroona

تب بھی وہ یہی کہتے کہ ہماری آنکھوں کو دھوکا ہو رہا ہے، بلکہ ہم پر جادو کر دیا گیا ہے

They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic

Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena

یہ ہماری کار فرمائی ہے کہ آسمان میں ہم نے بہت سے مضبوط قلعے بنائے، اُن کو دیکھنے والوں کے لیے مزین کیا

And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers

Wahafithnaha min kulli shaytanin rajeemin

اور ہر شیطان مردود سے ان کو محفوظ کر دیا

And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah]

Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun

کوئی شیطان ان میں راہ نہیں پا سکتا، الا یہ کہ کچھ سن گن لے لے اور جب وہ سن گن لینے کی کوشش کرتا ہے تو ایک شعلہ روشن اُس کا پیچھا کرتا ہے

Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame

Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin

ہم نے زمین کو پھیلایا، اُس میں پہاڑ جمائے، اس میں ہر نوع کی نباتات ٹھیک ٹھیک نپی تلی مقدار کے ساتھ اگائی

And the earth - We have spread it and cast therein firmly set mountains and caused to grow therein [something] of every well-balanced thing

WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha waman lastum lahu biraziqeena

اور اس میں معیشت کے اسباب فراہم کیے، تمہارے لیے بھی اور اُن بہت سی مخلوقات کے لیے بھی جن کے رازق تم نہیں ہو

And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers

Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin

کوئی چیز ایسی نہیں جس کے خزانے ہمارے پاس نہ ہوں، اور جس چیز کو بھی ہم نازل کرتے ہیں ایک مقرر مقدار میں نازل کرتے ہیں

And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure

Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena

بار آور ہواؤں کو ہم ہی بھیجتے ہیں، پھر آسمان سے پانی برساتے ہیں، اور اُس پانی سے تمہیں سیراب کرتے ہیں اِس دولت کے خزانہ دار تم نہیں ہو

And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers

Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona

زندگی اور موت ہم دیتے ہیں، اور ہم ہی سب کے وارث ہونے والے ہیں

And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor

Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeena minkum walaqad AAalimna almustakhireena

پہلے جو لوگ تم میں سے ہو گزرے ہیں اُن کو بھی ہم نے دیکھ رکھا ہے، اور بعد کے آنے والے بھی ہماری نگاہ میں ہیں

And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]

Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun

یقیناً تمہارا رب ان سب کو اکٹھا کرے گا، وہ حکیم بھی ہے اور علیم بھی

And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing

Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

ہم نے انسان کو سٹری ہوئی مٹی کے سوکھے گارے سے بنایا

And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud

Waaljanna khalaqnahu min qablu min nari alssamoomi

اور اُس سے پہلے جنوں کو ہم آگ کی لپٹ سے پیدا کر چکے تھے

And the jinn We created before from scorching fire

Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

پھر یاد کرو اُس موقع کو جب تمہارے رب نے فرشتوں سے کہا کہ "میں سڑی ہوئی مٹی کے سوکھے گارے سے ایک بشر پیدا کر رہا ہوں

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud

Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena

جب میں اُسے پورا بنا چکوں اور اس میں اپنی روح سے کچھ پھونک دوں تو تم سب اس کے آگے سجدے میں گر جانا

And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration

Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona

چنانچہ تمام فرشتوں نے سجدہ کیا

So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely

Illa ibleesa aba an yakoona maAAa alssajideena

سوائے ابلیس کے کہ اُس نے سجدہ کرنے والوں کا ساتھ دینے سے انکار کر دیا

Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated

Qala ya ibleesu ma laka alla takoona maAAa alssajideena

رب نے پوچھا "اے ابلیس، تجھے کیا ہوا کہ تو نے سجدہ کرنے والوں کا ساتھ نہ دیا؟

[Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate

Qala lam akun liasjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min salsalin min hamain masnoonin

اس نے کہا "میرا یہ کام نہیں ہے کہ میں اِس بشر کو سجدہ کروں جسے تو نے سڑی ہوئی مٹی کے سوکھے گارے سے پیدا کیا ہے

He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud

Qala faokhruj minha fainnaka rajeemun

رب نے فرمایا "اچھا تو نکل جا یہاں سے کیونکہ تو مردود ہے

[Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled

Wainna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmi alddeeni

اور اب روز جزا تک تجھ پر لعنت ہے

And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense

Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona

اُس نے عرض کیا "میرے رب، یہ بات ہے تو پھر مجھے اُس روز تک کے لیے مہلت دے جبکہ سب انسان دوبارہ اٹھائے جائیں گے

He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected

Qala fainnaka mina almunthareena

فرمایا "اچھا، تجھے مہلت ہے

[Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved

Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi

اُس دن تک جس کا وقت ہمیں معلوم ہے

Until the Day of the time well-known

Qala rabbi bima aghwaytanee laozayyinanna lahum fee alardi walaoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena

وہ بولا "میرے رب، جیسا تو نے مجھے بہکایا اُسی طرح اب میں زمین میں اِن کے لیے دل فریبیاں پیدا کر کے اِن سب کو بہکا دوں گا

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena

سوائے تیرے اُن بندوں کے جنہیں تو نے اِن میں سے خالص کر لیا ہو

Except, among them, Your chosen servants

Qala hatha siratun AAalayya mustaqeemun

فرمایا "یہ راستہ ہے جو سیدھا مجھ تک پہنچتا ہے

[Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight

Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena

بے شک، جو میرے حقیقی بندے ہیں ان پر تیرا بس نہ چلے گا تیرا بس تو صرف اُن بہکے ہوئے لوگوں ہی پر چلے گا جو تیری پیروی کریں

Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators

Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena

اور ان سب کے لیے جہنم کی وعید ہے

And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all

Laha sabAAatu abwabin likulli babin minhum juzon maqsoomun

یہ جہنم (جس کی وعید پیروان ابلیس کے لیے کی گئی ہے) اس کے سات دروازے ہیں ہر دروازے کے لیے اُن میں سے ایک حصہ مخصوص کر دیا گیا ہے

It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated

Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waAAuyoonin

بخلاف اِس کے متقی لوگ باغوں اور چشموں میں ہوں گے

Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs

Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena

اور اُن سے کہا جائے گا کہ داخل ہو جاؤ ان میں سلامتی کے ساتھ بے خوف و خطر

[Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]

WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileena

اُن کے دلوں میں جو تھوڑی بہت کھوٹ کپٹ ہوگی اسے ہم نکال دیں گے، وہ آپس میں بھائی بھائی بن کر آمنے سامنے تختوں پر بیٹھیں گے

And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other

La yamassuhum feeha nasabun wama hum minha bimukhrajeena

اُنہیں نہ وہاں کسی مشقت سے پالا پڑے گا اور نہ وہ وہاں سے نکالے جائیں گے

No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed

Nabbi AAibadee annee ana alghafooru alrraheemu

اے نبیؐ، میرے بندوں کو خبر دے دو کہ میں بہت درگزر کرنے والا اور رحیم ہوں

[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful

Wa anna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu

مگر اِس کے ساتھ میرا عذاب بھی نہایت دردناک عذاب ہے

And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment

Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema

اور انہیں ذرا ابراہیمؑ کے مہمانوں کا قصہ سناؤ

And inform them about the guests of Abraham

Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona

جب وہ آئے اُس کے ہاں اور کہا "سلام ہو تم پر،" تو اُس نے کہا "ہمیں تم سے ڈر لگتا ہے

When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you

Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا "ڈرو نہیں، ہم تمہیں ایک بڑے سیانے لڑکے کی بشارت دیتے ہیں

[The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy

Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni

ابراہیمؑ نے کہا "کیا تم اِس بڑھاپے میں مجھے اولاد کی بشارت دیتے ہو؟ ذرا سوچو تو سہی کہ یہ کیسی بشارت تم مجھے دے رہے ہو؟

He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform

Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا "ہم تمہیں برحق بشارت دے رہے ہیں، تم مایوس نہ ہو

They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing

Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona

ابراہیمؑ نے کہا "اپنے رب کی رحمت سے مایوس تو گمراہ لوگ ہی ہوا کرتے ہیں

He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray

Qala fama khatbukum ayyuha almursaloona

پھر ابراہیمؑ نے پوچھا "اے فرستادگان الٰہی، وہ مہم کیا ہے جس پر آپ حضرات تشریف لائے ہیں؟

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers

Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena

وہ بولے، "ہم ایک مجرم قوم کی طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals

Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena

صرف لوطؑ کے گھر والے مستثنیٰ ہیں، ان سب کو ہم بچا لیں گے

Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all

Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena

سوائے اُس کی بیوی کے جس کے لیے (اللہ فرماتا ہے کہ) ہم نے مقدر کر دیا ہے کہ وہ پیچھے رہ جانے والوں میں شامل رہے گی

Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind

Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona

پھر جب یہ فرستادے لوطؑ کے ہاں پہنچے

And when the messengers came to the family of Lot

Qala innakum qawmun munkaroona

تو اُس نے کہا "آپ لوگ اجنبی معلوم ہوتے ہیں

He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown

Qaloo bal jinaka bima kanoo feehi yamtaroona

اُنہوں نے جواب دیا "نہیں، بلکہ ہم وہی چیز لے کر آئے ہیں جس کے آنے میں یہ لوگ شک کر رہے تھے

They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing

Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona

ہم تم سے سچ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم حق کے ساتھ تمہارے پاس آئے ہیں

And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful

Faasri biahlika biqitAAin mina allayli waittabiAA adbarahum wala yaltafit minkum ahadun waimdoo haythu tumaroona

لہٰذا اب تم کچھ رات رہے اپنے گھر والوں کو لے کر نکل جاؤ اور خود ان کے پیچھے پیچھے چلو تم میں سے کوئی پلٹ کر نہ دیکھے بس سیدھے چلے جاؤ جدھر جانے کا تمہیں حکم دیا جا رہا ہے

So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded

Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena

اور اُسے ہم نے اپنا یہ فیصلہ پہنچا دیا کہ صبح ہوتے ہوتے اِن لوگوں کی جڑ کاٹ دی جائے گی

And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning

Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona

اتنے میں شہر کے لوگ خوشی کے مارے بے تاب ہو کر لوطؑ کے گھر چڑھ آئے

And the people of the city came rejoicing

Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni

لوطؑ نے کہا "بھائیو، یہ میرے مہمان ہیں، میری فضیحت نہ کرو

[Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me

Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni

اللہ سے ڈرو، مجھے رسوا نہ کرو

And fear Allah and do not disgrace me

Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena

وہ بولے "کیا ہم بارہا تمہیں منع نہیں کر چکے ہیں کہ دنیا بھر کے ٹھیکے دار نہ بنو؟

They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people

Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena

لوطؑ نے عاجز ہو کر کہا "اگر تمہیں کچھ کرنا ہی ہے تو یہ میری بیٹیاں موجود ہیں

[Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]

LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona

تیری جان کی قسم اے نبیؐ، اُس وقت اُن پر ایک نشہ سا چڑھا ہوا تھا جس میں وہ آپے سے باہر ہوئے جاتے تھے

By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly

Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena

آخرکار پو پھٹتے ہی اُن کو ایک زبردست دھماکے نے آ لیا

So the shriek seized them at sunrise

FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin

اور ہم نے اُس بستی کو تل پٹ کر کے رکھ دیا اور ان پر پکی ہوئی مٹی کے پتھروں کی بارش برسا دی

And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay

Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena

اِس واقعے میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو صاحب فراست ہیں

Indeed in that are signs for those who discern

Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin

اور وہ علاقہ (جہاں یہ واقعہ پیش آیا تھا) گزرگاہ عام پر واقع ہے

And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road

Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena

اُس میں سامان عبرت ہے اُن لوگوں کے لیے جو صاحب ایمان ہیں

Indeed in that is a sign for the believers

Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena

اور ایکہ والے ظالم تھے

And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers

Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin

تو دیکھ لو کہ ہم نے بھی اُن سے انتقام لیا، اور اِن دونوں قوموں کے اجڑے ہوئے علاقے کھلے راستے پر واقع ہیں

So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway

Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena

حجر کے لوگ بھی رسولوں کی تکذیب کر چکے ہیں

And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers

Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena

ہم نے اپنی آیات اُن کے پاس بھیجیں، اپنی نشانیاں اُن کو دکھائیں، مگر وہ سب کو نظر انداز ہی کرتے رہے

And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away

Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena

وہ پہاڑ تراش تراش کر مکان بناتے تھے اور اپنی جگہ بالکل بے خوف اور مطمئن تھے

And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure

Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena

آخرکار ایک زبردست دھماکے نے اُن کو صبح ہوتے آ لیا

But the shriek seized them at early morning

Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona

اور اُن کی کمائی اُن کے کچھ کام نہ آئی

So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn

Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela

ہم نے زمین اور آسمان کو اور ان کی سب موجودات کو حق کے سوا کسی اور بنیاد پر خلق نہیں کیا ہے، اور فیصلے کی گھڑی یقیناً آنے والی ہے، پس اے محمدؐ، تم (اِن لوگوں کی بیہودگیوں پر) شریفانہ درگزر سے کام لو

And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness

Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu

یقیناً تمہارا رب سب کا خالق ہے اور سب کچھ جانتا ہے

Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator

Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema

ہم نے تم کو سات ایسی آیتیں دے رکھی ہیں جو بار بار دہرائی جانے کے لائق ہیں، اور تمہیں قرآن عظیم عطا کیا ہے

And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an

La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena

تم اُس متاع دنیا کی طرف آنکھ اٹھا کر نہ دیکھو جو ہم نے اِن میں سے مختلف قسم کے لوگوں کو دے رکھی ہے، اور نہ اِن کے حال پر اپنا دل کڑھاؤ انہیں چھوڑ کر ایمان لانے والوں کی طرف جھکو

Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu

اور (نہ ماننے والوں سے) کہہ دو کہ میں تو صاف صاف تنبیہ کرنے والا ہوں

And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner

Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena

یہ اُسی کی طرح کی تنبیہ ہے جیسی ہم نے اُن تفرقہ پردازوں کی طرف بھیجی تھی

Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators

Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena

جنہوں نے اپنے قرآن کو ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر ڈالا ہے

Who have made the Qur'an into portions

Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena

تو قسم ہے تیرے رب کی، ہم ضرور ان سب سے پوچھیں گے

So by your Lord, We will surely question them all

AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona

کہ تم کیا کرتے رہے ہو

About what they used to do

FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena

پس اے نبیؐ، جس چیز کا تمہیں حکم دیا جا رہا ہے، اُسے ہانکے پکارے کہہ دو اور شرک کرنے والوں کی ذرا پروا نہ کرو

Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists

Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena

تمہاری طرف سے ہم اُن مذاق اڑانے والوں کی خبر لینے کے لیے کافی ہیں

Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers

Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona

جو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور کو بھی خدا قرار دیتے ہیں عنقریب انہیں معلوم ہو جائے گا

Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know

Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona

ہمیں معلوم ہے کہ جو باتیں یہ لوگ تم پر بناتے ہیں ان سے تمہارے دل کو سخت کوفت ہوتی ہے

And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say

Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena

اس کا علاج یہ ہے کہ اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ اس کی تسبیح کرو، اس کی جناب میں سجدہ بجا لاؤ

So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]

WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu

اور اُس آخری گھڑی تک اپنے رب کی بندگی کرتے رہو جس کا آنا یقینی ہے

And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death)
