How to Perform Ghusl (Full Bath) غسل کا طریقہ

When ghusl is obligatory غسل کب فرض ہوتا ہے

Ghusl becomes fard after: (1) sexual intercourse, even without ejaculation; (2) discharge of semen with desire, whether awake or in a wet dream; (3) the end of menstruation (hayd); (4) the end of post-natal bleeding (nifas). Washing a deceased Muslim is a communal obligation on the living.

ان صورتوں میں غسل فرض ہو جاتا ہے: (۱) ہمبستری، خواہ انزال نہ ہو؛ (۲) شہوت کے ساتھ منی کا نکلنا، جاگتے میں یا احتلام سے؛ (۳) حیض ختم ہونے پر؛ (۴) نفاس ختم ہونے پر۔ فوت شدہ مسلمان کو غسل دینا زندہ مسلمانوں پر فرضِ کفایہ ہے۔

The fard of ghusl (Hanafi) غسل کے فرائض (حنفی)

In the Hanafi school ghusl has three fard: (1) rinsing the whole mouth (gargling if not fasting); (2) sniffing water up to the soft part of the nose; (3) making water reach every part of the body, even one hair's breadth. If any spot stays dry, ghusl is not complete.

حنفی مسلک میں غسل کے تین فرض ہیں: (۱) کلی کرنا یعنی پورے منہ میں پانی پہنچانا (روزہ نہ ہو تو غرارہ)؛ (۲) ناک کی نرم ہڈی تک پانی پہنچانا؛ (۳) پورے بدن پر اس طرح پانی بہانا کہ بال برابر جگہ بھی خشک نہ رہے۔ کوئی جگہ خشک رہ گئی تو غسل نہیں ہوگا۔

Intention and Bismillah نیت اور بسم اللہ

Intend in your heart to purify yourself from major impurity, then say Bismillah (before entering the bathroom if it is also a toilet).

دل میں ناپاکی دور کرنے کی نیت کریں اور بسم اللہ پڑھیں (اگر غسل خانہ اور بیت الخلا ایک ہی ہو تو اندر جانے سے پہلے پڑھ لیں)۔

Bismillah

Meaning: In the name of Allah.

اللہ کے نام سے۔

Wash hands and private parts ہاتھ اور شرمگاہ دھونا

Wash both hands up to the wrists three times. Then wash the private parts and remove any impurity from the body with the left hand, and clean the hand afterwards.

دونوں ہاتھ کلائیوں تک تین بار دھوئیں۔ پھر بائیں ہاتھ سے شرمگاہ دھوئیں اور جسم پر لگی ہوئی ناپاکی صاف کریں، اس کے بعد ہاتھ اچھی طرح دھو لیں۔

Perform wudu وضو کرنا

Perform a complete wudu as for Salah. If you are standing where water collects, you may delay washing the feet until the end.

نماز والا پورا وضو کریں۔ اگر ایسی جگہ کھڑے ہیں جہاں پانی جمع ہوتا ہے تو پاؤں آخر میں دھو لیں۔

Pour water over the head and body سر اور بدن پر پانی بہانا

Pour water over the head three times, running wet fingers through the hair to the roots. Then pour water over the right shoulder three times, then the left shoulder three times, and over the whole body, rubbing so it reaches the navel, armpits, behind the ears and between the toes.

سر پر تین بار پانی ڈالیں اور انگلیوں سے بالوں کی جڑوں تک پانی پہنچائیں۔ پھر تین بار دائیں کندھے پر، تین بار بائیں کندھے پر اور پورے بدن پر پانی بہائیں، اور مل کر ناف، بغلوں، کانوں کے پیچھے اور پاؤں کی انگلیوں کے درمیان پانی پہنچائیں۔

Wash the feet and finish پاؤں دھو کر مکمل کرنا

Move a little from your place and wash the feet if you delayed them. Check that no part remains dry. The wudu done within ghusl is valid for Salah unless it is broken afterwards.

اگر پاؤں رہ گئے تھے تو جگہ سے ہٹ کر دھو لیں۔ تسلی کر لیں کہ کوئی حصہ خشک نہیں رہا۔ غسل کے ساتھ کیا گیا وضو نماز کے لیے کافی ہے جب تک ٹوٹ نہ جائے۔
